Dear MyNigeria reader,
It was a sad weekend for Nigeria as the country witnessed the killings of about 43 rice farmers in Borno. The killings, described as one of the bloodiest in Nigeria’s history since the fight against Boko Haram began in 2009, begs the question on government’s commitment to ending this plague.
While farmers in the region have halted their day-to-day farming activities, several news makers, home and abroad are calling for more strategic and effective means to soften the grasp of the terrorists in the region.
The novel coronavirus is still a major threat in Nigeria as we continually get news of casualties from the virus. So far, 67,557 Nigerians have been affected by the virus, while, 1,173 have died.
Our best wishes for a positive week ahead. Please send any comments, suggestions, criticisms, ideas, news and features to editor@mynigeria.com. Follow us on all social media platforms at @themynigeria for updates throughout the day.
