Nigerians in the diaspora express disappointment in Buhari

Nigeria News Update
Issue #8 • View online
Dear MyNigeria reader,
What will be your assessment of the Buhari-led administration in the handling of security in the country?
While we leave you to your thoughts, MyNigeria enjoined Nigerians in Ghana’s capital, Accra, to speak to them on what they think of Buhari’s administration, 5 years on. As we moved in and out of crowded shops owned by Nigerians, you could tell that all they want is to be able to come back home to an economically viable country.
The appointment and subsequent announcement of new service chiefs were applauded by Nigerians far and wide. Many, however, raised concerns at the inclusion of Major-General I. Attahiru, who, according to popular belief, has failed in his task to capture Abubakar Shekau, the leader of Boko Haram in 2015.
The second wave of the coronavirus is proving more deadly than the first. With the country’s health facility overwhelmed, and the country recording thousands of cases daily, the Presidential Task Force, state governors, and stakeholders are entreating all to abide by the safety guidelines.
So far, 131,000 Nigerians have been affected by the virus, while, 1,586 have died.
Our best wishes for a positive week ahead. Please send any comments, suggestions, criticisms, ideas, news, and features to editor@mynigeria.com. Follow us on all social media platforms at @themynigeria for updates throughout the day. You can also download the MyNigeria App from Google Playstore.
