Kidnappings in Nigeria's northern region, what could be the problem?

Nigeria News Update
Issue #10 • View online
Dear MyNigeria reader,
Kidnappings in northern Nigeria have now become the norm. This time, the victims were 30 students from the Federal College of Forestry Mechanisation, Mando in Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The incident which occurred at midnight on Thursday, March 11, 2021, has again raised eyebrows at the government’s commitment to tackling the menace.
Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr’s 24-man call-up to face Benin and Lesotho in the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers didn’t go without backlash. This was mainly because he included clubless captain Ahmed Musa to the team at the expense of in-form striker Paul Onuachu.
Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) President Amaju Pinnick was elected into FIFA’s Executive Council at Confederation of African Football’s 43rd General Assembly in Rabat, Morocco, on Friday. He becomes the second Nigerian to serve at FIFA in that capacity.
While the daily case count of coronavirus might have reduced, we will be wrong to assume the vaccine means the end of the virus. Nigerians are still getting infected daily. Always remember to adhere to the safety protocols.
So far, 160,000 Nigerians have been affected by the virus, while, 2,000 have died.
